Best puzzle days for National Puzzle Day

The second most important day to New Years Day in January, the 29th January is National Puzzle Day.

To celebrate National Puzzle Day in style, we have put together the UK’s best puzzle days for adults and children. Let the games commence.

  1. Discovery Games UK

Many locations all over the country such as London, Bath, Brighton, York, Canterbury, Newbury and Bristol.  They offer activities for school trips and children’s parties, hen parties, work team building days, and casual games as well. With many crazy puzzle days to choose from, some exclusive to one location. They can be self-run or hosted and can depend on your group size. Many activities include races against time, murder mystery and more. 

 

  1. Spy Missions

Join Spy Missions for a series of puzzles and games aboard a battle cruiser. Centres are in Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Nottingham, Croydon, and Walthamstow. Missions are suitable for all ages, with activities specified with the suitable ages.

 

  1. Children’s Murder Mystery

A murder mystery trail around Shrewsbury. Trails can be purchased online in a guide book for £6.99 which is suitable for 4-5 people. The trail will last around 2 hours and takes you on a 2 mile adventure around a historical town. A perfect way to learn more history about your town or a new place. Another location is Birmingham.

  1. The Crystal Maze

A more expensive option but defiantly worth it. The Crystal Maze now has two locations, Manchester and London. Like the game show, you enter a 90 minute challenge with 4 teams of 8 people per team.  A mental and at times physical challenge to get the chance to win crystals in the final Crystal Dome. Suitable for ages above 13 years as long as there is one over 18 in each group.

  1. Breakout Chester

For teams of 2-5 players, aged 10 years old or above. Chester’s Breakout has a mixture of themed puzzle rooms to suit all interests and capabilities. A 60 minute timed challenge, can you guess all the clues and escape before time runs out?

If being outdoors is more your thing, try the Nature Detectives for wildlife themed puzzles suitable for all ages. From birdwatching to insect spotting, there are games to match every adventure.

Shropshire’s Bishop Castle has a spy themed trail perfect for the whole family. Under the same company as the murder mystery above, all trails are £6.99. After purchasing the trail online you are able to explore your chosen location freely. These trails are available at many locations around the UK.
